SOYBEANS

For Industrial and Commercial Uses

NATURALLY GROWN SOYBEANS

Nigeria is the largest producer of soybeans in sub-Saharan Africa and the sixth largest producer worldwide. Currently, Nigeria’s soybean exports are on the rise. In 2020, Nigeria exported 1.4 million tons of soybeans worth $380 million. The main destinations for Nigerian soybeans are India, China, and the Netherlands. India is Nigeria’s largest soybean importer, accounting for about 40% of total exports. China is the second largest importer, accounting for about 30% of total exports. The Netherlands is the third largest importer, accounting for about 20% of total exports. Several factors explain the increase in soybean exports from Nigeria.

Why buy Nigerian soybeans from Commodity 1?

A few of the reasons to consider Commodity 1 for your soybean supplies are:

a) Competitive Prices: We have the most competitive prices. Our prices are competitive because we can sell to you directly, eliminating the need for intermediaries and go-betweens. We are willing to negotiate on price if the buyer commits to a long-term contract.

b) Our soybeans are naturally grown and, hence, healthy: We grow soybeans naturally without pesticides and fungicides. Grown, pesticide-free soybean gives you a healthier option than other cultivars. The use of pesticides in food crops poses a severe threat to human health and well-being. Short-term pesticide exposure can cause skin and eye irritation, respiratory and central nervous system problems, coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. Long-term use of pesticides can cause cancer, congenital disabilities, and reproductive problems (such as male and female fertility, increased pregnancy complications, and stillbirths). Long-term exposure to pesticides can also cause the risk of neurological problems (memory, learning, and processing) and endocrine damage (issues with metabolism, reproduction, and development). Growing ginger conventionally uses many pesticides and fungicides (carbamates, organophosphates, pyrethroids, insect growth regulators), all of which harm human health.

Harmful impact of pesticides used in regular soybeans cultivation on human health

Pesticide Harmful impact of pesticides on human health
Carbamates It can cause various symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, sweating, blurred vision, muscle weakness, seizures, and respiratory failure. In severe cases, carbamate poisoning can be fatal.
Organophosphates It can also cause a variety of symptoms, including those listed for carbamates, as well as miosis (constriction of the pupils), bradycardia (slow heart rate), bronchospasm (spasms of the airways), and increased salivation and sweating. Organophosphate poisoning can also be fatal.
Pyrethroids They are less toxic than carbamates and organophosphates but can cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and rash. In severe cases, pyrethroid poisoning can lead to seizures, coma, and death.

Insect growth regulators

They can disrupt the development of insects but can also harm human health. Some insect growth regulators have been linked to neurological problems, reproductive problems, and cancer.

c) As a cultivar, our naturally grown soybeans have some unique properties:

  • High Nutrient Content: Nigerian soybeans are known for their high nutritional value. They are a good source of protein, fiber, and other nutrients, such as iron, magnesium, and zinc.
  • Adaptability: Nigerian beans are adaptable to many growing conditions. They can be grown in a variety of soils and climates.
  • Resistance: Nigerian soybeans are naturally resistant to pests and diseases. They are less likely to be affected by pests and diseases than soybeans in other parts of the world.
